Duplex vs Triaxial ...

Hi,
unfortunately my 'hunt' for a pair of 604B is pretty dragging ... up to now only frauds - really annoying.
Therefor I'm wondering about the possible advantage of triaxial drivers, because there seems to be some of them around - starting regardless prices.
Possible candidates are Jensen G610(B) (pretty expensive) - University 315-C and EV 15TRX. I'd be glad for some suggestions ... probably some people like to share there experiences they made with those drivers - also what might set them apart from 604 duplex speakers as my recent GPA 604H (II).

It would help other Folks to give advice if we knew your location. There has been numerous 604B's recently on eBay.

This one just ended couple weeks back and there were a couple of others.

Thanks for advice - yes, I saw those items (of the last month) - and I was in contact with some sellers. What I'm tracing is a pair of B (not red ones) with original cones and diaphragms. Hard to find and in the end a lot of fraud (unfortunately also on ebay). However I'm located in Germany, that means shipping might be a great unknown' in sense of damages etc. So it should be a serious package at all ... Unfortunately there was a desired pair 604B close to my location, halve a year ago - but as it is - I didn't saw them.
While wondering about the triaxial drivers I'd like to extent my territory ...

You only need to talk to the seller first to see if they will go the extra mile.Most sellers IMO will if they are compensated.Build plywood boxes etc.Nobody wants to do that these days without paying for material and there time as it is really a lot of work.Shipping handmade plywood boxes half way around the world could take half a day or longer to build easily.It's taken me half a day to pack a receiver with just cardboard and styrofoam.Although it was (doubleboxed).And arrived safely I might add.All I charged was for materials.When you ask someone to take out a saw and cut ply compensation is a must IMO.And it has to be well (Can't be Cheap) compensation Plus it will help keep the stress down worrying about them arriving safely.Always ask for pictures of the boxes as well to see if they are up to the task.YMMV.

You already have GPA 604-II's ? They are not to your liking ?

Addendum: I have seen prices over there in Germany.Very expensive.IMHO I think you could buy them here in the USA and pay for shipping cheaper than buying them there.

yes, I have a pair of GPA Series II in 612B enclosures with custom-built x-overs.
Thanks for recommending the University 315C - however has somebody audited the Duplex and Triaxial drivers side by side?
